Welcome to Trust without Borders, a blog that’s going to document my new journey to Haiti.

If you’ve come this far, you’re at least a little bit interested in my story, for which I’m grateful. Without the love and support of my church family, actual family, or family of friends, I would not have been able to travel to Haiti in 2015 and 2016, and my world would not have been forever changed. I wouldn’t have trusted God beyond all measure, I wouldn’t have returned to college, and I would definitely be stuck in the same mediocre, dead-end job.

So when the chance arose to possibly complete an internship in Haiti during the summer of 2017, I jumped at the opportunity. While Huricane Matthew has thrown many details into chaos, I am still working toward a month-long stay on the island of La Gonave during the summer of 2017, hopefully June. The organizer in me is dying to know every single detail of the trip, but the follower of Christ in me has to give it up to God and trust that He has a plan, even if I don’t. The prayer that led me to Haiti in the first place is the one I pray now:

“Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk across the waters, wherever You would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith would be made stronger in the presence of my Saviour.”

Thank you for embarking upon this journey with me!
